Boiler smart thermostats and room thermostats are ways to control the temperature of the entire house (and hot water), and thermostatic radiator valves (TRV) allow you to manage the temperature of individual rooms. TRV are those nozzles located at the bottom of the radiator, usually with 1-5 and an asterisk (*) on the nozzle. The higher the number, the greater the flow of hot water flowing through the radiator, and therefore the more heat the radiator emits.

It is recommended that you set the TRV to 3, which is around 20°C, although the temperature of any bedroom radiator should be slightly lower, set to 2. It is not recommended to place the TRV and the thermostat on the radiator in the same room, because a tampered radiator will mislead the thermostat and mess up your central heating system.
