What is a Damper Actuator and what we at Hotowell can provide

What is a Damper Actuator? To answer that question, let us take a quick look at the damper. A damper is a device used to control the airflow inside ducts, AHUs, and VAV boxes to maintain the desired temperature. To control the damper, one can either use a manual handle, or a motorized actuator, which is damper actuator, what we are going to introduce.

There are different types of damper actuators: manual or automatic. Automatic ones, driven by electricity, are more common and are what we will focus on today.

The electric damper actuators can be classified further according to their specification. We will explain the following part with the examples of our products.

1. Control signal:

- two-position

- floating

- modulating signal

Our actuators combine the first 2 wiring in one model, so there are actually 2 types that need to be noted: [on-off/2-position/3-point] and [modulating].

2. Operating voltage:

- 230V

- 24V

3. Actuator torque

- 5Nm, 10, 20, 30, 40

4. Running time

Different sub-model comes with different running times, and the advanced one requires less time, which is suitable for strict situations.

To give an example, if one wants to choose an actuator that comes with [5Nm torque, 24V power supply, and modulating signal], we can recommend our

HTW-DA2-5N24M (Running Time=35S)

HTW-DA3-5N24M (Running Time=18S)

HTW-DA3F-5N24M (-Running Time=2S)
