Many of us have been in quarantine for around two months, but the whole world pandemic situation seems to hit the end yet. Would COVID-19 be completely controlled in June? Nobody knows the answer, what we know is summer has come, coronavirus won’t disappear automatically because of temperature is going higher, but we human will suffer both high temperature and COVID-19. Till now, the most effective actions to control virus’s spread are still socialized distance, quarantine and wearing masks, and for medical workers, protecting clothing and glasses for medical workers etc. All these things would be okay if in winter, but in summer, they will make us feel uncomfortable and would be a big challenge for us people since the environmental temperature is high. How can we stay safe and comfortable in this summer?

Central air conditioning system will act important role in comfortable temperature control. Air conditioning system plus masks/protecting cloth and glasses might be not bad method which can help us stay safe and comfortable in this summer. Even medical workers who wear multi-layer covers, they will feel comfortable and can focus more on treatment. Likewise, in hotels, restaurants, office buildings, shopping malls etc. buildings, people will happy to wear masks when the air is comfortable. Central air conditioning controller might looks like a little bit professional for people who have no knowledge in HVAC industry. How can we control the central air conditioning system to let air be comfortable?

How professional thermostat works to make air comfortable?

Central air condition system contains thousands of parts, thermostats is the end controller to make the whole system acts as design. About how thermostat works to make air comfortable to make 2020 summer exposures to the COVID-19 virus easier to go, take fancoil system as an example, we have some tips below to help you have a quick look about functions of thermostat.

1.   ON/OFF mode

Press power button  to switch thermostat between on and off mode.

2.   Increase/decrease button

Press increase/decrease button  to change set-point temperature. Set-point temperature is the temperature you want the air conditioning system to hold and the temperature you think is comfortable. Different people has unique feel about their own ideal temperature, you can set use you want, but for environmental friendly, 27~28℃ is highly recommened.

3. Fan Option modes

Generally speaking, fan can be selected by auto, manually high-mid-low 3 speed fan mode. In auto mode, fan speed will be activated according to the difference between room temperature and set-point temperature; in manual mode, users can select high/mid/low fan speed by pressing button like .

4.   Ventilation mode

Press mode button Like or  to enter ventilation mode (different manufacturers have their own definition about mode button. In ventilation mode, no output for valve while the fan will activated according to selected fan speed.

5.   Heating/Cooling mode

Comparing with ventilation mode, in heating/cooling mode, fan and valve will be activated according to selected fan speed and set-point temperature.

For example, room temperature is 30℃, you want it to be 27℃ as fast as possible. Then you press decrease button to set setpoint to be 27℃ and select high speed fan, at this time, cold water valve will be opened to allow cold water enters, and fan runs at high speed to blow cool air as fast as possible to the room. In 2~5mins approx., the room temperature will be 27℃

Functions above are the core basic functions, for smart thermostat, besides these basic functions, there are also programmable function, time setting, app control and so on.
